The HKCAAVQ appoints Specialists to serve on accreditation panels and to advise on quality assurance matters. When required, these Specialists will provide their professional advice on the latest development in their sectors / disciplines.

There are around 1,600 specialists from 36 sectors and 12 academic disciplines serving the HKCAAVQ. They are practitioners from the industries or from the academic and professional fields with relevant experience in areas such as industry practices, quality assurance, institutional management, programme delivery and management and / or matters related to Qualifications Framework. Around half of the Specialists are currently working in the industries and are primarily engaged in vocational accreditation. The remaining half have an academic background and are primarily engaged in academic accreditation. About 1/5 of the Specialists are from overseas and provide views and advice from international perspectives and support mainly academic accreditation.
