The Estate Agents Authority (EAA) launched the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Scheme in May 2005. Under the CPD Scheme, estate agents or salespersons are encouraged to fulfill the target of 10 CPD hours per year in the spirit of life-long learning. The EAA has invited the HKCAAVQ to offer assessment service for the CPD Scheme. Following the CPD Scheme for insurance intermediaries, this is the second CPD Scheme in Hong Kong which HKCAAVQ is the designated assessment authority.
The HKCAAVQ provides assessment service to seminars and similar activities for the estate agents or salespersons according to the Assessment Procedure. Starting from 2 May 2007, e-learning or web-based activities have been included in the Scheme. CPD providers will be charged for the service according to the fee schedule specified in the Assessment Procedure.
Activity providers (except those with standing endorsement of the Professional Development Committee) who wish to offer EAA CPD activities may submit their applications to the HKCAAVQ one month before the intended commencement of the CPD activities.
All the approved activities are subject to re-assessment on an annual basis. An annual re-assessment exercise will be instituted about 12 months after approval. Approved activities not submitted for re-assessment within three months of expiry will be treated as new cases for assessment if submitted thereafter.
The Assessment Procedure (with Fee Schedule), Application Forms can be downloaded here. Please navigate the EAA web site for information of approved CPD activities.
